The Prejudiced Hierarchist
Animated short student film
For a long time, humanity has separated itself from animality. But the more scientists know about non-human animals, the more they see similarities with humans. We need animal emancipation to go forward. This short movie makes a start in breaking down human’s hierarchical ideas about other animals, using real-life examples.
The Prejudiced Hierarchist was made as part of the MA Animation (Cum Laude) at the Master Institute of Visual Cultures in Den Bosch, The Netherlands and was finished in September 2021.

Voor een lange tijd heeft de mensheid zichzelf afgescheiden van dierlijkheid. Maar, hoe meer wetenschappers weten over niet-menselijke dieren, hoe meer ze overeenkomsten zien met mensen. We hebben dierenemancipatie nodig om vooruit te gaan. Deze korte film maakt een aanzet in het afbreken van de menselijke hiërarchische ideeën over andere dieren, door echte voorbeelden te laten zien.
The Prejudiced Hierarchist was onderdeel van de MA Animatie (Cum Laude) aan het Master institute of Visual Cultures AKV ST Joost in Den Bosch en werd afgemaakt in september 2021.
